Recently I have been thinking about data sonification as a starting point for creating music. A few months ago I created a tool that would convert text to morse code an then to midi and I have been using it as a starting point and then building tracks around the output.
More recently I have been creating python scripts to convert data in to midi and over the easter holiday I created the 2 below. The first is taking data from the Met Office in the UK for annual global temperature anomaly data from 1850 to the present. The second is taking the price of the Brent Crude Oil price from the 1 Jan to the 2 Apr.
My normal time I get to work on music is the first thing in the morning with coffee and planning my day.
