While digging through some old samples I ended up building a Tekno kit and a 32-bar loop. Figured this could be a good excuse to make something together.

  • The Tekno kit

  • 32-bar starter loop (optional)

Challenge

Create anything you want—but all sounds must come from this kit.

Rules

  • 4–32 bars

  • Max 2 submissions per user

  • Any format (loop, track, FX, etc.)

  • Building on others is encouraged (always credit them)

Resampling

Allowed, but:

  • Include the original source

  • Share a quick note on what you did

Why join

Here’s a lunchtime mess about

Made in Ableton with the samples in a drum rack and then pulling the samples into Grainferno to create the music.

32 bars long but with a 2-bar fade at the end.

Gave it a go! I used only samples from the kit for both drums and melody. Got the idea from @Karhide to use Grainferno on the tonal sample for the melody. I used Spaced out on the crash in the beginning and the rest is just tuned drums with some ableton stock plugins.

Here’s mine! It’s a grid patch running a few samplers containing Tekno hits. All sequencing and mixing is done inside the patch, with Spaced Out → Comeback Kid applied to the master.
