Grainferno 1.1.1 update* is out!

Thanks to all that have picked up Grainferno!! We just pushed a free update, which you can grab here Baby Audio Downloads - Get Plugins and Free Trials

We had to make a small correction with the new shape mode introduction so it’s now v1.1.1

v1.1.1 changelog

  • Turkey shape was behaving the same as exponential - fixed

v1.1 changelog

  • CPU optimizations

  • Synth voice clicking issues eliminated

  • Added Exponential grain window shape (mode for Shape parameter)

  • Added sample load via file browser to circumvent specific sample drag and drop issues

  • Added extra high quality option for both realtime use and rendering

  • File extensions are no longer capital sensitive when loading samples

  • Main visualizer improvements (OpenGL and non-OpenGL)

  • Other misc visual improvements

The next update (timeline tbd) will be more feature focused, let us know if you have any requests! And we’d love to hear more creations around here :)

The new grainferno update has ruined all my saved loops. It does not sound good as it did with version 1.0. Would be able to go back to the first version?

This should be fixed if you grab the newest version here (1.1.1 now). It was an issue with the shape parameter that slipped through. In the process of letting people know!

Let me know if it isn’t fixed for you but it should be all sorted now. Sorry about that :frowning:

I have a question belonging to the midification possibility of Grainferno.
I tried to control Grainferno with Roto-Control (Melbourne Instruments) and it worked for most parameters, except for Toggle parameters like Rate, Size, Scan, Normalization, Auto-Pitch etc.
Would it be possible to make those send Midi as well so that I can put on Toggle Buttons as well?
Happy to hear from you!
Thank you

I’ve added it to our list for future updates! I’m not 100% if it can be done at this point logistically to be honest but someone smarter than me can answer with certainty

We have a list of midifcations we want to get to though.

I’ve been looking at getting a Roto-Control myself. Right now I have a midi fighter twister, which always delivers, but that thing looks extra slick. Or the new Novation launch control.

I have a midifighter twister myself and loved it, but since the company doesn’t seem to be interested in up-to-date mappings I don’t use it so much anymore and the roto-control is really great and much easier to program. Very smart concept. Thanks for your reply. Have a great day!
